Pilates Therapy Teacher Training

Our courses are modular so there are training options for qualified Pilates teachers looking to add additional skills, or complete all courses to work towards qualifying as a Pilates Therapist.

Those new to teaching Pilates can also take our comprehensive Pilates Therapy Teacher training
course which includes Pilates Mat Work (Pre-Pilates as well as the Classical repertoire), Reformer, Cadillac, Stability Chair, and Ladder Barrel, as well as all our therapy courses.

Level One Pilates Therapy Courses open to Pilates Teachers*


Touch; MET’s; Pilates Twenty Touches; Pelvis and Hip; Pelvis and Spine; Shoulders; Neurodynamics; Basic Massage, Trigger Points and Taping; Knee and Foot.   

  • Courses require a good understanding of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics (online module available for those new to teaching) and there will be an online test to refresh your memory to confirm your place on any course.

  • Matwork and Equipment Pilates teachers must have attended a teacher training course with a minimum of 450 hours.


What do the Pilates therapy courses cover ?
Anatomy, Review of common conditions related to each course, Objective Screens-Stop Guessing and be more effective with your existing skills!

Hands on Skills - first Pilates qualification in the UK to teach hands on skills (palpation, trigger points, fascial release, active release techniques, MET’s)
Introduction to Basics of Massage, Trigger Points and Kinesiotaping
Introduction to the concept of Neurokinetic Therapy.
Advanced movement and mechanics theories including:
Pelvic torsions, nutation, counternutation, form/force closure, Fryette’s law of spinal mechanics, foot mechanics, talus positioning, gait mechanics, concept of ‘drivers’

Teacher Training Requirements:
Comprehensive Teacher Training:
You will be required to attend all tutorials - if you miss tutorials they will need to be made up on other courses.
  • Online anatomy and Physiology exam which can be retaken as many times as needed but gets you familiar with what you will need to know.

Anatomy and physiology will also be addressed during tutorials.
  • Comprehensive Pilates mat and equipment training (pre-Pilates as well as Classical repertoire)  

  • Assisting hours with approved qualified teacher

  • Self study hours

  • Self Practice

  • Case studies

  • Essay

  • Completion of workbook

  • Two practical and two written exams. 

Bridging Course (for qualified Pilates teachers meeting necessary requirements):
  • Completion of all Level one courses (starting with Touch and Rules of the Bones) plus an additional course (Basic Massage) only available to bridging students.

  • Online anatomy, physiology and biomechanics exam (to be completed and passed prior to commencement of courses)

  • Workbook including Case study

  • Practical and written exam
