The Pilates Therapy method

This is where we integrate a unique set of skills.

First the body is assessed from the feet up…..

Tools such as NeuroKinetic Therapy and Biomechanics screening (which are similar to those used by a physiotherapist or osteopath) allow us to asses the whole body.

Through looking at your breathing, and movement patterns we can gain a clear objective picture of what is happening with each persons body.

Often pain is referred and treating the area of pain does not necessarily solve the cause of the problem.

Depending on what we find, we may offer treatment, possibly refer you on to another practitioner or we may move straight onto Pilates exercise to correct any imbalances we find.

We will recommend a course of action which may include the release of certain muscles and Pilates exercises to strengthen where needed.

Pilates Therapists have hands on skills such as trigger point or massage, kinesio-taping, and are insured to handle clients which not all Pilates teachers are qualified to do.

Our aim is for our clients to never leave our studios without some relief of pain and/or improvement in function.

Pilates Therapists do not diagnose, nor suggest that they replace Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Chiropractic treatment or medical treatment of any kind.
